Bio

Anna-Marie is known for the intuitive use of colour in her paintings which challenge the viewer, employing an unusual juxtaposition of ideas and images that are well-crafted and superbly drawn, images that are ‘real’ in an otherwise unreal world.

Anna-Marie’s artistic influences come from studying the work of the Surrealist movement and Pre-Raphaelites. She is emotionally drawn to and transfixed by the dreamlike form and the archetypal content of their paintings, along with the high-realism and symbolism used to conceal a tale. She has a strong connection with nature and the environment that comes from childhood and finds inspiration through reading and travelling.

After studying art and history of art, Anna-Marie went on to have a career in graphic design, running her own successful, award winning, creative design agency Bussroot.

She works on new projects from the sanctuary of her art studio in the Kent countryside. Her works have been sold to private collections nationally and internationally and she exhibits in local galleries and exhibitions.
